# Taxonomy Admin Search

## Description

This plugin injects a small search box at the top of taxonomy metaboxes (the checkbox
lists) on the post edit screen. It only appears for taxonomies that have more than
5 terms to avoid clutter.

Search queries are performed via AJAX and the checklist is filtered client-side 
for a quick, responsive experience.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `taxonomy-admin-search` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory.
 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
 3. Edit a post that uses a taxonomy with more than 5 terms and the search box will
    appear above the taxonomy metabox.

## FAQ

### Will this plugin change term assignments?

No. It only shows/hides existing checklist items. It doesn’t add, remove, or modify
terms.

### Can I change the threshold of 5 terms?

Not from the UI yet. You can change the threshold by editing the plugin source where`
intval($count) > 5` is used.

We’ve been facing challenges assigning terms to posts and products due to the overwhelming
number of terms. This plugin offers an excellent solution by adding a search bar
whenever there are more than five terms, making it easy to search and assign terms
efficiently. It saves a significant amount of time.
